My Stepdaughter / My Surname

Postby lewy0101 » June 4, 2012, 6:20 am

Hi there, i would hugely appreciate any useful information & advice with regards to me being able to go about changing "My Step Daughters" surname. My step daughter is now 9yrs of age & i have been married to her mother (who is a Thai national) for a little over 5yrs. They both stay in Thailand & i in Scotland. My daughters biological father has signed the papers stating my wife to be the sole parent/carer, we have marriage certificates & we have a house for the 3 of us also (hopefully more in the near future too) I would like to know the requirements of which i will need to successfully share my surname as our family name. I look forward to some positive feedback. Thanks.

My wife recently changed her surname after our marriage.
We needed her house book with registration shown and I think her birth certificate and ID card. It was done in the district office where her name was registered ( some outlying suburb of Bangkok)We took the passport as well and had a new one issued at the same time.

Would not this involve adoptions?
