kanchanaburi to udon

i want to visit kanchanaburi before i go to udon,can i get there without going back to bangkok?thanks

You do not have to go through BKK. Kanchanaburi to Sarabury then connect with Hwy 2 to Korat. 4 lane most of the way but will encounter a few stretches of highway construction. Drove that route in Feb.

That is of course assuming that you have a car available.
Highway 323/4 ex Kanchanaburi then 346 to Bangkok ring road (No 9) and joining highway 1 south of Saraburi (then it's the same as coming home from BKK)
Be extra vigilant on highway 346 there are a couple of pretty confusing junctions, including one where you have to turn left then do a "U" turn and turn left again as there is no flyover/underpass/road junction
