Drugs (of the illegal kind)

Postby nostalgiadamus » May 3, 2012, 8:28 pm

I'm now in my 60's and must confess to having an "addictive personality" (if that is the correct phraseology), which I recognise, so have, always avoided "illegal "drugs.

I smoke, like a chimney (though have, now halved my intake) & can "drink like a fish" but have never "crossed the line", because I recognised that I would, always, want more, as I have done with my "legal" drugs.

So, my question is this (without wishing to sound clever, condescending or holier than thou).

Why have others gone down the route of using, either, a soft drug (such as pot) and/or then moved on to hard drugs (Heroine, Cocaine, Crack etc.).

Serious question.

if you have never crossed the line, then you will never really know why...
why did you start up smoking, why did you start up drinking
why do some cigarette smokers, move up to cigars
why do some beer drinkers, move up to whiskey

Drugs (of the illegal kind)

The drugs you take are still drugs, its just that they are legal at present, booze and cigarettes cost the health system more than illegal drugs. In answer to your question why do people take illegal drugs its the same reason you take your drugs, because it makes you feel good.
